Combining whole, healthy foods along with reduced exposure to negative sources from various products - cleaning and body care. Unsafe food additives are easy to understand since these are ingested. However, reducing exposure to chemical fragrances and propellants that have been shown to contribute to a variety of cancers and other ailments by inhalation and dermal absorption also improves health and quality of life.
The books will give you a list of recipes that you can easily mix up using everyday household ingredients.

Sample recipe:
A basic oatmeal mask is simply powdered oats and water.

Tools Needed:
Small pot
Large spoon
Blender or food processor

1 cup plain oats
1 cup water

Powder the oats in a blender or food processor. Pour the water into the pot and add the powdered oats. Stir while heating on a low setting. Add more water if needed to make the mixture into a spreadable consistency. It should hold together but not be lumpy. Allow to cool and rub all over your face, shoulders, feet or any dry, irritated skin. Allow it to remain on the skin for at least 15 minutes. Rinse off in the sink, shower or bath.
