I began using Original Sprout products around June 2009. Original Sprout's products are truly worry-free. If you'd like to learn more about their standards and practices, visit their website page: Ingredients. I feel good about making my purchases direct to them or via trusted authorized sellers. Yes the products may cost more than what you'll find in typical stores but if you want to control ingredients that are put on your children's skin then this is a safe bet!
In summary of what you'll find on their Ingredients page:
WORRY FREE LUXURYOriginal Sprout uses fragrances & essential oils that are approved by California's Safe Cosmetics Program & the European Cosmetics Directive. By creating safe fragrances, smelling good is worry-free! The products I use on my son daily:
Hair & Body Wash
Side note: I use the Hair & Body Wash and the Luscious Island Conditioner on occasion in between my no-pooing.
This is his hair after he's woken up. It is a big mess!
This is his hair after we've applied the Miracle Detangler and Leave-in Conditioner. Oh and BTW, the products smell scrumptious!!
How did I go from the Before to the After?
Top left corner: Bed head in full effect!
Second to the right: Back of his head. Woo child!
Top right corner: Sprayed water and Miracle Detangler. Combed effortlessly.
Bottom left corner: Applied Leave-in Conditioner and curled sections of his hair into tight curls.
Bottom right corner: Two thumbs up. Time: 5 minutes or less.
When his hair dries, it will be slightly fuller than what is pictured but the products help keep his curls in place. If your child has big hair that you'd like to control with safe products, give Original Sprout a try. There is no product build-up. It also helps keep the scalp moist (not oily) but curbs dry, itchy scalp. I've never used unnatural products on his hair (or on his skin). After his hair is shampooed & conditioned (about twice a week), I put coconut oil in his hair and on his scalp. (I also use coconut oil as a body moisturizer. Original Sprout carries a Body Cream, too.)
Disclosure: I am not being paid for my review of Original Sprouts nor did I receive any free products for my review. I'm simply sharing a resource that my family has enjoyed for 4 years!
